Hi, I’m Scott. I’m a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA).
What is exit planning? In simple terms, it is preparing a business and the business owner for the sale or transition of the business.
That might mean a third-party sale, family succession, a management buyout, an ESOP, or another structured transition. There is rarely just one option, and the right path depends on the owner’s goals and timing.
The key is starting early. Waiting until you are ready to exit is a bit like deciding to train for a marathon the week before the race.
Exit planning is about building a business that is valuable, transferable and not dependent on the owner. It also means being exit-ready at any time, in case opportunity knocks or circumstances change unexpectedly.
My background is in business operations and leadership, so I focus on the practical work that increases value: stronger systems, clearer reporting, better management structures and reduced owner dependency. More options, more value, less stress.
I primarily work with owners of mid-sized businesses, who are considering exiting or transitioning within the next three to five years.
I also collaborate closely with accountants, financial advisers, lawyers and business brokers. Exit planning works best as a coordinated effort, and I enjoy working alongside a business owner’s trusted advisers to bring a clear strategy together.
If you’re working with business owners who are thinking about what’s next, I’d love to connect and have a chat.
