MEMBERS
Suspension of membership policy
A suspension is available to members who cannot attend Hub meetings for a period but intend to return. It pauses unused membership time. It is not a cancellation or a refund.
1. Requesting a suspension
A member may request a suspension by emailing Fresh HQ before they wish it to begin. They must have at least two months remaining on their membership.
Fresh HQ considers requests individually. A suspension takes effect only when approved in writing and will not be backdated unless Fresh HQ agrees.
Fresh will confirm the suspension start date, the exact membership time remaining, the suspension expiry date and how any outstanding payment plan instalments will be handled.
2. While membership is suspended
Membership time stops running from the approved suspension date. The member cannot attend Hub meetings or use benefits that require an active membership.
Fresh may make the member’s category available to another applicant. A suspension does not reserve their original Hub or category.
3. Suspension expiry
A suspension is valid for three years from its start date. The member must contact Fresh HQ to request a return before the third anniversary of that date.
Fresh will confirm the expiry date when approving the suspension and send a reminder before it expires. If the member does not request to return within three years, the suspension and unused membership time will expire, subject to their rights under Australian Consumer Law. Fresh HQ may approve an extension in writing before the expiry date.
4. Returning with six months or more remaining
If the member had six months or more remaining when the suspension began, that exact amount of time will restart when they return. They will not need to pay for a new annual membership until that time has been used. Fresh will confirm their revised renewal date in writing.
5. Returning with at least two months but less than six months remaining
If the member had at least two months but less than six months remaining when the suspension began, they may return by purchasing a new 12 month membership at the rate applicable when they return. Fresh will add their exact unused membership time to the end of that new term and confirm the revised end date in writing.
Fresh will explain this payment requirement when approving the suspension.
6. Membership rates and unused time
Unused membership is recorded as time remaining, not as a monetary credit. A change in membership rates will not reduce that remaining time. Where a new 12 month membership is required under section 5, the rate applicable on the return date applies to that new term.
7. Hub availability on return
The member must contact Fresh HQ before returning so Fresh can check which Hubs have a vacancy for their category. Their original Hub and category are not guaranteed.
If their original place has been filled, Fresh will look for a suitable alternative Hub, taking into account the member’s category, location, meeting time and ability to attend. Fresh will confirm any offer in writing, including the Hub’s location, meeting time and available category.
If the member declines a suitable Hub offer, they may remain suspended until the three year expiry date while they consider other vacancies. Declining a suitable offer does not entitle them to a refund simply because they prefer another Hub.
If Fresh cannot offer a suitable way for the member to use their remaining paid membership, Fresh will discuss a reasonable solution with them. This may include keeping the suspension in place while a vacancy is sought or addressing the unused paid portion of their membership, taking account of the circumstances and their legal rights.
8. Refunds and legal rights
A suspension does not entitle a member to a cash refund because they decide not to return. Membership fees remain non-refundable for a change of mind, except where Fresh’s cooling off policy or the law provides otherwise.
Conditions around transferring of membership
You may request a transfer to another hub by completing the Transfer of Membership Application form, subject to:
- Having been in your hub for a minimum of one year.
- Having brought a minimum of 8 guests in the last 12 months.
- Great attendance record.
- Been an active member ranking highly across all areas on the Fresh Dashboard.
- Been a team player by contributing in a hub leadership role.
- Been an active networker across the Fresh community.
Hub morale is a determining factor when approving transfer requests to ensure your existing hub members are not disadvantaged. Therefore transfer requests are capped per hub to the following:
- For hubs with 15+ members: Fresh will approve 2 transfers within a 6 months period (6 months is calculated from the last approved transfer date).
- For hubs with 11-14 members: Fresh will approve 1 transfer within a 6 months period (6 months is calculated from the last approved transfer date).
- For hubs with <10 members: No transfers will be approved
Membership expectations
Fresh works best when everyone contributes. As a Hub member, we ask you to:
- Aim to invite one guest each month and introduce at least eight guests over the year.
- Attend your fortnightly Hub meetings and take part.
- Complete Fresh Networking Development training.
- Contribute to your Hub, including taking on a leadership role when asked.
- Attend your Hub’s closed meetings, usually three or four each year in addition to regular meetings.
Bringing guests helps your Hub grow and creates more connections for everyone. If you introduce fewer than four guests to your Hub or the wider Fresh Network during your membership year, Fresh may invite you to meet with your Hub leaders to discuss your contribution and renewal, or decide not to offer a further term.
How do I cancel my membership?
Please email Fresh HQ at getfresh@freshnetworking.com.au to let us know you’d like to cancel, and advise your Hub facilitators.
If you cancel within 10 calendar days of joining, our cooling off policy applies. After that, membership fees are not refunded simply because you change your mind or can no longer attend.
If you plan to return, you may be eligible to request a membership suspension instead.
Renewal Process
Fresh reviews memberships before they expire to help keep Hubs active, welcoming and full of connection opportunities. Most members are offered a renewal. The process is also a chance to look at whether someone is getting involved and contributing to their Hub.
Around 30 days before your membership expires, Fresh HQ reviews your guest introductions, attendance, Fresh Dashboard activity, participation and contribution to Hub culture. We also consider your activity over previous years if you’ve been a member for some time.
Our annual guest introduction guide is:
- Eight or more guests: your renewal will usually be straightforward, subject to the full review.
- Five to seven guests: we may arrange a Chataccino to talk about your activity and how we can support you.
- Fewer than four guests: Fresh may decide not to offer a renewal or invite you to discuss your contribution first.
Guest numbers are considered in proportion to the length of your membership year. They are one part of the decision, not the only thing we look at.
If Fresh HQ supports a renewal, the Hub leadership team is given a summary of your Fresh activity and 48 hours to provide feedback. Leaders may ask for a Chataccino before a decision is made. If the renewal is approved, you’ll receive an email with your renewal offer and a questionnaire where you can tell us whether you’d like to renew, leave Fresh or request a transfer.
If a renewal is not offered, Fresh HQ will let you know by email. Any feedback from Hub leaders is reviewed by Fresh HQ and kept confidential. You can continue attending until your current membership ends, provided you continue to follow Fresh’s code of conduct.
Our aim is to help members succeed, so please don’t wait until renewal time if you’re finding it hard to bring guests or get involved. Your Fresh Dashboard helps you keep track of your activity, and you can ask your Hub leaders or Fresh HQ for guidance. Leaders are there to build relationships with you and support the Hub, not chase members about their contribution.
A decision not to offer a further term is not a judgement of you or your business. We know the relationships you’ve built can continue beyond Fresh. It is a decision about membership of the Hub and Fresh’s responsibility to help that Hub thrive.
How do I fill out Fresh activity?
The following activities are what you can report at your meeting each fortnight via the Fresh Portal (download activity):
- Bringing a guest
- Get Fresh with a Guest
- Get Fresh with a Member
- Visit another hub
- Ka-ching – closed business from a Fresh referral
- A new connection to pass to another Fresh member
- Fresh Academy or webinar you completed.
What is the Fresh Dashboard?
The Fresh Dashboard is where you record your Fresh activity, track your progress and thank members who have referred business to you. It helps you see how you’re contributing to your own success and your Hub’s success.
It also tracks your meeting attendance and the guests you’ve introduced. Guest invitations are measured against the point you’ve reached in your membership year. As an annual guide, eight or more guests puts you in green, five to seven in yellow, and four or fewer in red. Fresh shares the dashboard with Hub facilitators each quarter and provides members with their own results.
The dashboard is a tool for self-accountability. It helps you take ownership of your contribution, while your Hub leaders focus on building relationships rather than chasing members about their activity.
Fresh considers your dashboard results when reviewing membership renewals and transfer requests. Members who want speaking opportunities also need to be in the green and actively contributing to the Fresh community.
What should I do if conflict with another member?
If the issue is about work you’ve purchased from another member, please raise it directly with that member. Any concerns about their service, payment or business agreement are between the businesses involved. Fresh does not investigate the work, decide who is right or negotiate a resolution on either party’s behalf.
If the issue concerns behaviour within Fresh and you cannot resolve it directly, speak with your Hub Facilitator. If the Facilitator is involved, or the members are in different Hubs, contact your Area Manager or Fresh HQ. We’ll listen to those involved and decide what action, if any, is needed to protect the Fresh community.
We expect members to treat one another respectfully, even when they disagree. Serious or repeated behaviour that breaches Fresh’s membership terms may result in action under those terms, including termination of membership.
What is Fresh's code of conduct?
Fresh is built on trust, respect and genuine relationships. We expect members and guests to treat everyone involved with Fresh courteously, including other members, guests, Hub leaders, Fresh HQ staff and external contractors.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats, verbal or physical abuse, and repeated rudeness are not acceptable. This includes taking frustration out on someone who is simply carrying out their Fresh role, such as following up a booking, renewal questionnaire, payment or membership requirement. You are welcome to raise a concern or question a decision, but please do so respectfully.
We also expect everyone to respect others’ privacy and keep personal or confidential information shared through Fresh private. Gossip or comments intended to damage someone’s reputation or business are not acceptable.
Fresh HQ will review concerns about conduct and decide what action is appropriate. Depending on the circumstances, we may speak with the person involved, issue a warning, decline a guest’s future bookings, restrict participation or take action under a member’s membership terms. Serious behaviour may require immediate action.
The same standards apply to Fresh staff, Hub leaders and contractors. Concerns about a contractor’s conduct will be addressed under their agreement with Fresh and may result in their engagement ending.
What can I put on the Facebook member page?
The group is a place to connect with other Freshies and share things related to Fresh. You can:
- Ask for a recommendation or referral, or put your hand up if you can help.
- Give another Freshie a shout out for great service.
- Share photos or videos from your Hub meetings and Fresh events.
- Promote a Fresh event or activity and join the conversation about what’s happening across the network.
Keep posts relevant to Fresh and respectful of other members. If you’re sharing a photo or video, please make sure the people in it are comfortable with you posting it.
What can I put on the Facebook Events page?
This is the place to share what’s happening in your business with the wider Fresh community. You can promote your events, webinars and special offers, share a customer success story or celebrate an award or milestone.
Keep posts relevant, respectful and useful to other members. If you share a customer story, make sure you have their permission first.
How are Hub leaders chosen, and what are the roles?
Every Hub needs members to take a turn helping it thrive. Roles include Facilitator, Co Facilitator, Education Coordinator, Meet and Greeters, Hub Promoters, Hub Event Coordinator, Buddies and Member Support. Fresh may add other roles as Hubs grow.
The Facilitator, Co Facilitator and Education Coordinator form the core leadership team. Around two months before a changeover, the current team nominates members they believe are Fresh minded, contribute to the Hub and can help carry it forward. The Area Manager reviews the nominations and seeks approval from Fresh HQ before the nominated members are approached. The current leaders also nominate members for the other Hub roles, with Area Manager approval. There is no vote or minimum length of membership required.
In established Hubs, core leadership roles generally last 12 months, or around 22 meetings. Changeovers happen on 1 April and 1 October, with training starting the month before. New Hubs may review their leadership team after six months as the Hub grows.
Incoming Facilitators, Co Facilitators and Education Coordinators complete Make Your Hub Magnetic, Make Your Meetings Sparkle and any other required training. Members in other roles use their role guides and attend relevant training when offered. The outgoing team helps the new leaders through their first couple of months, so no one is left to figure it out alone.
Why would I become part of the leadership team?
Fresh provides the platform, the brand and the support. The members and leaders create the Hub people actually experience. By taking on a leadership role, you help make it a welcoming, vibrant place where businesses build relationships, find opportunities and benefit from being part of Fresh.
You’ll get to know members and guests more deeply, build trust and raise your profile. You’ll also develop skills you can use in your own business, from running meetings and speaking to a room to bringing people together and handling tricky conversations.
And there’s real pride in seeing a Hub thrive and knowing you helped make it happen. We’re all busy running our businesses, which is why everyone needs to take a turn. When we share the effort, we share in the Hub’s success.
How can I become a guest speaker at a Fresh Hub?
Guest speaking opportunities are generally available in Hubs with fewer than 12 members. Once a Hub has 13 or more members, speaking spots are usually kept for its own members so everyone has a chance to present.
If you have a topic that would benefit a smaller Hub, contact its Facilitator or Education Coordinator. Guest speakers need to be in the green on the Fresh Dashboard, actively bringing guests and contributing to their own Hub.
Your presentation should share useful knowledge, engage the room and be well prepared, with clear slides where appropriate. It must educate rather than sell, and it must respect the business categories held by members of the Hub you’re visiting. The Hub leadership team will decide whether the topic is right for their members and guests.
When do I get added to the speaker roster
As soon as you’ve completed Make the most of your Membership, Make the Most of your Pitch and Make the Most of your 10 Minutes through the Fresh Academy, you’ll be added to the speaker roster for your hub. Most Fresh Academy courses run on a monthly basis.
Medical leave / special leave policy
Please speak to head office if you have a medical or special requirement that means you cannot attend meetings. We’ll deal with each request on a case by case basis.
Can I pause my membership for parental leave?
Yes. If you are expecting a child or welcoming a child into your family, you can request parental leave by emailing Fresh HQ before you want the leave to begin. Parental leave can be approved for up to 12 months.
When Fresh HQ approves your leave, we’ll confirm the start date, the time remaining on your membership and the date by which you need to contact us about returning. Your unused membership time will pause during the approved leave and restart when you return. For example, if you have six months remaining when your leave begins, you will still have six months remaining when you return.
Your Hub category is not reserved while you are on leave and may be filled by another member. Before you return, Fresh HQ will check whether your original Hub has a vacancy for your category. If it does not, we’ll look for a suitable alternative Hub. Any transfer to a new Hub is subject to its normal application and approval process.
If you decline a suitable Hub that Fresh offers, you may remain on leave until your approved leave period ends, but declining that offer does not entitle you to a refund simply because you prefer another Hub. If Fresh cannot offer a suitable way to use your remaining paid membership, we’ll discuss a reasonable solution with you.
What is a Fresh Buddy?
When you join a Hub, you’ll be paired with a Fresh Buddy for your first six weeks. They’re a fellow member who can help you settle in, meet people and make the most of your membership.
Your Buddy will check in with you after meetings and work through a short checklist so you know what to do next. If you have a question about your Hub or how Fresh works, they’re a great first person to ask.
Where can I get my corporate photo done?
A professional headshot can help your Fresh directory profile make a good first impression. You can find photographers in the Fresh Members Directory or ask in the members’ Facebook group who offers headshot photography.
Fresh does not recommend or endorse a particular photographer. Have a look at their work, discuss what you need and decide for yourself who is the right fit. Any booking and payment arrangements are between you and the photographer.
Do I get automatically renewed?
No. Fresh reviews each membership before its expiry date. We look at your guest introductions, attendance, Fresh activity and contribution to your Hub, and we seek feedback from the Hub leadership team.
If you’re offered a renewal, you’ll receive a questionnaire asking what you’d like to do next. You can choose to:
- Renew your membership.
- Finish your membership at the end of its current term.
- Request a transfer to another Hub, subject to the transfer process.
- Ask about Fresh Alumni, if you’ve been an active member for more than two years and want to stay connected while stepping back from regular Hub meetings.
If you’re unsure which option suits you, contact Fresh HQ before completing the questionnaire.
What are Member only meetings?
Each Hub holds a members only meeting about once a quarter. It’s the Hub’s 90 day planning session, where members review what’s working, set priorities and plan how to create more connections and opportunities.
These meetings are held in an off week, outside the regular Hub meeting time. Your usual Hub meetings stay open to guests, so you don’t miss an opportunity to introduce someone new.
We ask members to attend where possible so everyone can contribute to the Hub’s future success. Keep the discussion positive and constructive. If you have a concern about another member or a sensitive issue, raise it privately with the appropriate person rather than using the meeting to air grievances.
What does it mean to be an active member?
An active member shows up, builds relationships and helps their Hub thrive. We ask Hub members to:
- Aim to invite one guest each month.
- Attend and take part in their fortnightly Hub meetings.
- Complete Fresh Networking Development training.
- Contribute in a Hub role when asked.
- Attend the members only planning meetings where possible, usually three or four each year.
- Join Fresh social gatherings when they can, to get to know members beyond the meeting room.
We know everyone is busy. Being active means making a consistent contribution, so the effort and opportunities are shared across the Hub.
Do I get credit for a guest I invite to another Hub?
Yes. Guests you introduce to any Fresh Hub count towards your guest activity.
Ask your guest to include your name in the “How did you hear about Fresh?” field when they register, so we can record the introduction against your Fresh Dashboard. You’re welcome to visit the other Hub with them and help them feel at home.
What is Fresh’s attendance policy?
Hub members are expected to attend their fortnightly meetings. You may miss up to four meetings during your membership year without sending a proxy. If someone attends in your place, that meeting counts as attended rather than as one of your four absences.
Your proxy could be a colleague, a friend or another Fresh member. Please let your Hub leaders know who is coming and give your proxy your pitch script and Fresh activity to share at the meeting. They can also give a short introduction to their own business.
If you reach five absences in your membership year, Fresh HQ will review your attendance and contact you to discuss whether you can commit to the Hub going forward. Continued poor attendance may affect your renewal or lead to action under the membership terms, including termination where the terms permit it.
Your place prevents someone else in your business category from joining that Hub. Regular attendance gives your fellow members the chance to know you and helps everyone get more from the Hub.
Can I transfer my membership to another person in my organisation?
You can ask Fresh HQ to consider another person in your organisation taking over your membership if you have more than three months remaining.
The change is not automatic. The proposed member must complete the normal application and interview process and be approved for the Hub. We need to be confident they are the right fit for its members and culture.
If approved, they will take over the exact time remaining on your current membership. When that time ends, they can apply to renew through the usual process. If they are not approved, your membership stays with you and its existing terms continue to apply.
Any arrangement between you and your organisation about who paid for the membership is for you to resolve directly. A request to change the member does not, by itself, create a right to a refund.
LEADERSHIP TEAMS
Can I change the agenda & slides
No. Hubs must use the current Fresh agenda and slide deck as provided. Please do not add, remove, reorder or redesign slides, change the meeting format, or use an older version. A consistent meeting experience is part of what members and guests can expect from Fresh, whichever Hub they visit.
If your Hub has an idea that would improve the meeting, send it to Fresh HQ. We welcome suggestions, but any change must be approved by Fresh HQ before it is used. The Hub leadership team cannot approve changes on its own.
How quickly should the Fresh Membership Team follow up an application?
The Fresh Membership Team must contact an applicant within 48 hours of receiving their application and aim to complete the interview within five days. A prompt, welcoming response gives applicants a good first experience of Fresh and keeps their interest moving forward.
If you cannot meet either timeframe, let Fresh HQ know as soon as possible so another interviewer can be arranged. Please don’t leave the application waiting while you work out your availability.
What do we do if our Hub wants to change venues?
Speak with your Area Manager and send any suggested venues to Fresh HQ. The Facilitator must obtain Fresh HQ approval before making arrangements or announcing a move. Please do not cancel the current venue until the new one is confirmed.
When proposing a venue, send Fresh HQ a short walkthrough video showing the parking and entrance, where members and guests would mingle before the meeting, the dining area and the private meeting room. Include the proposed room layout and where the screen or projector would go. This helps us assess the whole guest experience, not just the meeting room.
A suitable venue needs a private room for up to 30 people, a screen or projector, a full menu with food ordered and paid for on the day, and no room hire fee. We also look for accessible parking or public transport, space to gather before the meeting, access 30 minutes early to set up, individual tax invoices, table numbers to minimise ordering disruptions, flexible table layouts and confirmed meeting dates for the next 12 months.
What is the process about being appointed to the leadership team?
Every Hub needs members to take a turn helping it thrive. Roles include Facilitator, Co Facilitator, Education Coordinator, Meet and Greeters, Hub Promoters, Hub Event Coordinator, Buddies and Member Support. Fresh may add other roles as Hubs grow.
The Facilitator, Co Facilitator and Education Coordinator form the core leadership team.
How long do Hub leadership roles last?

New Hubs are reviewed after six months as the Hub grows and more members join. Fresh may also make changes during a term if the Hub’s needs change. The outgoing team supports the new leaders through their first couple of months.
GUEST QUESTIONS
How many visits can I do?
You’re welcome to visit Fresh twice in total. You can visit the same Hub both times or try two different Hubs. After that, if you’d like to keep coming, it’s time to put a ring on it and become a member.
How much is membership?
Our membership options and prices are listed on the Membership Packages page. You can compare what’s included and choose the option that suits you. Meals at Hub meetings are paid separately.
What hubs are available for my category?
o see which Hubs have a vacancy for your business category, check the Business Categories Available listing on our website’s home page.
If your preferred Hub doesn’t have a vacancy, Fresh Starter is another way to join the Fresh community while you wait for a place to open up.
Can two people from the same company fill the position?
No. Each membership belongs to one person because networking relationships are built with the person, not the organisation. If you can’t attend a meeting, a colleague can come in your place occasionally. If a colleague would like to take over the membership permanently, they’ll need to go through our normal application process.
What hubs can I visit when I am a member?
That depends on your membership:
- Fresh Starter members receive two Hub guest passes per quarter.
- Alumni members receive 12 Hub visits per year, with a maximum of three per quarter.
- Café and Corporate members can visit any Fresh Hub as often as they like.
If you visit a Hub where another member is in the same business category, please be respectful of their place in that Hub.
Which hub should I join?
Your Hub will depend on whether your business category is available and where your business is located. We generally look for members based within 5 km of the Hub, so it’s convenient for you to attend fortnightly meetings and invite local guests.
What are my payment options?
You can pay your membership fee by electronic funds transfer or credit card, whichever suits you best. A surcharge applies to credit card payments.
If you’d prefer to spread the cost, you can choose a 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 month payment plan, paid by direct debit. Payment plan surcharges range from 5% to 25%, depending on the option you choose. You’ll find the full details on the membership application form.
Can I do a 6 months membership?
Our Café and Corporate memberships have a 12 month commitment. Networking takes time: you need to get to know the people in your Hub, and they need time to get to know you. We’ve found that six months is usually too short to build those relationships and start seeing the benefits.
If you’re not ready for a 12 month commitment, Fresh Starter offers a month to month option. Alumni membership is also available month to month for eligible former members.
Can I pay monthly?
Hub and Corporate memberships are annual, so they cannot be paid as an ongoing monthly subscription. You can pay in full by electronic funds transfer or credit card, or spread the annual fee over 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 months by direct debit.
Payment plan surcharges range from 5% to 25%, depending on the option you choose. A credit card surcharge also applies. You’ll find the full details on the membership application form.
Fresh Starter and Alumni are separate month to month memberships.
What do I need to contribute as a member
We’re all busy running our businesses. That’s why a successful Hub needs everyone to contribute, rather than leaving the work to a few people. If you’re a Café or Corporate Hub member, we ask you to:
- Attend your Hub meetings and take part.
- Aim to bring one guest to your Hub each month.
- Get to know fellow members through one to one catch ups.
- Stay active between meetings and come ready to share at least three Fresh activities, such as making an introduction, giving a referral, visiting another Hub or attending an event.
- Do your part to make the Hub work, including stepping into a leadership role when your Hub leadership team asks you.
Everyone brings something different to the table. When everyone steps up, everyone benefits.
Collaboration vs competition - clash of categories
Fresh protects your business category within your Hub. We will not place another member in the same category, but category protection does not give one member exclusive rights to an entire industry.
Many businesses offer services that overlap. A residential mortgage broker may also arrange commercial finance, or an accountant may also provide bookkeeping and CFO services. When you apply, we look at the main focus of your business and the area you want to be known for. You choose one category, and that is the category you represent and promote at Hub meetings.
Members in related categories must respect each other’s place in the Hub. For example, residential mortgage brokers, commercial finance brokers and asset finance brokers can belong to the same Hub. A member in one of those categories must not use Hub meetings to promote services assigned to another member’s category or try to prevent that member from joining. The same principle applies to areas such as law, accounting and marketing.
Fresh determines category placement. Protecting a category means you have your own clear place in the Hub. It does not mean you can reserve every service your business is capable of providing. Bringing complementary specialists together gives members more people to meet, more connections to share and more opportunities to collaborate.
Substitutes
If you cannot attend a meeting, you are expected to invite a substitute to take your place. Your substitute delivers your one-minute pitch and represents your business.
Expectation around attendance
You are expected to attend all meetings of your hub. Everyone needs holidays though, and of course sometimes we are unwell, so you do have the flexibility to miss no more than two meetings every six months. Wherever possible, you should arrange a substitute to take your place.
Expectation around guests
Guests are the lifeblood of Fresh, giving our meetings energy, interest, vitality and business opportunities for your hub mates. So we do ask you to aim for at least one guest a month, with an absolute minimum of eight per year.
I would like to open a hub, what do I need to do
If you see a gap that a Fresh hub could fill, the first thing to do is to complete a New Hub Expression of Interest form. We’ll support you with marketing to get interested people along. We recommend you have a minimum of 8 people to start a hub.
Can I be a member of more than 1 networking organisation
Yes, absolutely. We encourage anything that expands your network and develops your networking skills. Other networking groups are a great source of guests for Fresh too! Just remember to provide referral opportunities to your fellow Freshies if you are expecting same.
What is the application process
Firstly, you complete an application form. Then the facilitator (or co-facilitator) of the hub you’ve applied to will contact you for a ‘Fresh Audition’. Don’t worry, there’s no singing involved, it’s simply a set of questions about your expectations and experience of networking, what you’ll bring to the hub and how
Can I get a refund once paid - Is there a cooling off period?
Yes. If you change your mind within 10 calendar days of joining Fresh Networking, you can cancel your membership and receive a refund of the amount paid, less a $110 administration fee including GST. Please email us within those 10 days to request cancellation.
After 10 days, we do not offer refunds if you simply change your mind. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law still apply.
What is expected of me when i come as a guest to a meeting
Come prepared with an introduction to your business (you’ll have 30, 45 or 60 seconds depending on the meeting agenda). Listen and engage with the others in the meeting. Be open-minded and fun.
Do I have to pay for breakfast / meal when i attend a cafe meeting as a guest?
Yes – the venues offer us the room free of charge, on condition that everyone attending buys a breakfast.
Spamming policy
We ask all members and guests not to spam anyone in the room. That means not sending out mass unsolicited emails, or adding people to your mailing list. Of course it’s fine to connect on LinkedIn, or to ask someone for their contact details for a follow up meeting.
What happens when I turn up to a Cafe hub meeting (guest registration, pay for breakfast)
The hub meet and greeter will be expecting you (from your online registration) and will note that you are there, so that you can be welcomed in the meeting. You’ll be asked to order your breakfast (which comes out once everyone is seated) and the meet an greeter will introduce you to people for informal networking before the formal meeting starts.
When do I get my zoom link for the online hub meetings
The link is sent out the night before, 2 hours and 10 mins before the meeting. So don’t worry if you don’t have it the night before, it will be in your inbox by the morning.
What if I need to cancel my ticket for an event
That’s no problem, you can cancel your ticket directly via Eventbrite or if you have enough notice, it is courteous to let the facilitator know that you can’t make it. Don’t forget to book for the following meeting!
How long do I need to be in business?
There is no fixed time – we have start ups and we have people with long-established businesses. It is more about your network, your attitude to connecting and giving referrals, and the quality and professionalism of the service you offer.
Think Fresh First
This means that if someone asks ‘Do you know someone who…’, your first thought is to refer a Fresh member. If there’s someone in your hub that fits the bill, great. If not, you can use the Fresh Members’ Directory to find someone in the right category, or you can post a request on the Members Only Facebook page.
If you sell, you will repel
Networking isn’t about selling. It’s about building genuine relationships based on trust and liking. If you come to a Fresh meeting determined to deliver a sales pitch, you probably won’t get very far. Our members are most interested in getting to know you.
Payment terms
Once your membership has been approved, full payment is due within 7 days of your invoice date. You can spread payments over the first three months of your membership (please refer to What are my payment options above)
