Alana Tompson is an multi-award winning Cinematographer and the Creative Director of Said & Done Media. She specialises in producing creative and thought provoking documentary and advertising content. Her most notable credits include filming season 7 of Whale Wars (2013-2014) for Animal Planet where she spent 3 months at sea in Antarctica filming the battle between Sea Shepherd and the Japanese Whaling Fleet. She worked on Defend, Conserve Protect (2021) which won best Feature Documentary at the American Film Festival. And Keeping Country Strong (2025). She founded her own production company, Said & Done Media in 2015. It offers an alternative to what the film industry has traditionally looked like being female-led and prioritising diverse crews and creatives. They specialise in video, photography and animation.
Alana not only produces beautiful and cinematic work but also strives to ensure that the experience of everyone on set with her is a safe and inclusive one. She is skilled at filming quick and reactive documentary content all the way through to content that requires emotional sensitivity and support.
